Fun day out in the Water

My day begun with this marvelous breakfast. I didn't eat the salad, but everything else on this plate was amazing. I specifically enjoyed the brown egg roll up thing they gave us. It was probably the most flavorful thing I have eaten since I've been in Taiwan. I could taste the seasoning, which I have found that not all foods here have seasons. Anyway, after we ate our big breakfast we headed out to go on these boats that looked like partial submarines. I didn't enjoy that ride at all. Then we went snorkeling which was completely different from other snorkeling experiences I have had in the pass. Then we went to the beach, which was also not what I was expecting. I had a great time at the beach, but I hated all of the sand that got into my hair. The water at the beach was very unkind. Lastly we finished the day at some hot springs where we got the dead skin eaten off of our feet by Garra Rufa fish, famously known as pedicure fish.
Here's the partial submarine boat I was talking about. I didn't enjoy this boat ride because It was extremely wobbly sometimes while out on the water. When it wobbles my head gets all funky and I start to feel kind of dizzy and nauseous.



We were super hungry and honestly needed a meal that was similar to back home. So we got some McDonald's. I got a double cheese burger meal, and I was surprised with the flavor. This meal actually tasted healthier than the McDonald's back home, which is one main reason why I don't usually eat there. These fries were sooooo good, and the McFlurry was even better.

Me and the crew are all geared up and ready to go. We were in two lines and had the front person holding onto the life buoy, followed by a person holding on to the back of the front persons life vest. Then we were guided out into the water with a professional who pulled us around and had fish food in a little baggy. He would throw the fish food pretty close to us so we could get close to the fish in the water. We even swam through a school of jelly fish which was probably the coolest thing that happened in the water, although one of our group members got stung on the face. She is doing just fine though.





We tried some coconut water from fresh coconuts. It was not my cup of tea at all.

We started off our day by visiting the Presidential Palace. Before entering the palace you could see guards at every entrance, some with guns. There was barbwire going around the palace, and even though it was definitely short enough for someone to just jump over it, I don't think anyone would want to risk it. We had to drink our water, or what ever liquid we bought to demonstrate that our drinks weren't poisoned. Then they checked our bags and let us on our way. It was a beautiful tour, and we got to learn a little history about current and past presidents. What is there to do on a Rainy day?

We went to Ximen which was a mid town tourist attraction area. We visited a lot of different vendors, seen some beautiful pieces of jewelry that was easily over priced, and ate some delicious food as always. We had the opportunity to go and see Dr. Huangs house he grew up in, which is where his Dad and brothers still live. From there we went and had a dumpling dinner, which was super good. We had some different flavored dumplings, from cabbage and pork, spicy Korean, to curry and shrimp filled dumplings. Due to the rain, we didn't do some of the originally planned activities, but the improvised activities were just as great.  We finished up the day with some more food, and then went swimming, which I will go into more details about later. If you are wondering, no we didn't play any games, because we don't get to convert our USD into Taiwanese Dollars until Monday. (Tomorrow). Last day of chemistry experiments

This picture may look very familiar. We went to this exact location earlier in the same week. This is a pretty famous spot, and the food was just as good as the first time when we ate here. I really enjoyed this hibachi style restaurant, and I am quite sad to know that this was my last time eating here, as we head back to Taipei. The best food here was their garlic chicken and their vegetables. I really liked the cabbage, it was seasoned really well and even had a kick to it, which added a needed degree of hotness, although I ended up burning my tongue because my vegetables were unknowingly boiling on my tray. After we ate our meal, we walked back to the chemistry lab to meet up with a guy named Winder. He lead us to the place where Dr. Chiu-Ming Chang was located. Dr Chang specializes in Chinese medicine, and acupuncture. He did acupuncture on all of us, cupping, and Moxibustion.
