Longshan Temple | Bejing duck dinner

We begun our day at the Longshan temple, which is the oldest temple in Taiwan. We all got an incense stick and went to a place where they had burners to burn the ends of the stick. After we light the sticks we walked around and were able to see, and pray to the different gods. These gods included the main god, the fertility god, a god for education, a god for marriage and so on. Once we finished, you brought your stick to this big vessel with what looked like sand in it, and place the incense stick as straight as possible in that sand.

These are called moon blocks. You use them to ask questions to specific gods. You would go in front of the god you want to ask the question to, ask the question, then throw the moon blocks. Depending on how the moon blocks landed would determine your answer, kind of like a magic 8 ball. You throw the blocks 3 times to get an average answer.

Bejing duck dinner. It was soooooo good. Especially when we added the chilli pepper sauce.

We went to the biggest night market in Taipei. I found this beautiful jacket there, and was able to negotiate for a cheaper price.
